Registered Nurse (RN) – Full Time

We are looking for a Registered Nurse who has had a wide range of experience in health care settings.  Like our residents who take every opportunity for continued growth and wellbeing, we expect our team to demonstrate a willingness to grow and learn every day.

We are a specialist provider for adults with disability.  Our sector balances residential care with a strong community-based, wellbeing focus.  You will have the wisdom to see ability, and not a disability, in the people who make LFT their home.

As a Registered Nurse you’ll be completing assessments and patient care planning, providing care and evaluation outcomes of care for patients and their families, monitoring change to patient conditions and behaviours, reassuring and educating families, administering medicines and assisting residents with daily activities.

Skills and Attributes required:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to lead and delegate
• In-depth knowledge on the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in health and disability care settings.
• High energy with excellent time management
• Provide a full range of nursing services to a diverse range of clients
• Work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to support clients to maintain their health and wellbeing
• Work as an integral part of our clinical and care team providing clinical and rehabilitation services to disabled people aged 20+
• A commitment to clinical quality, safety and improvement
• A proactive critical thinker
• Patience and compassion with a holistic approach to nursing to assist residents to maintain and improve independence where possible
• Coach, mentor and support staff to ensure the delivery of safe, appropriate and individualised care in an environment of continuous improvement
• Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse
• A current practising certificate

Key Responsibilities

• To plan, deliver supervise and evaluate professional nursing care
• To establish and manage effective care plans and assessments in partnership with residents and other members of the team
• To provide supervision and monitor nursing care of all residents
• Supervises, orientates, coaches and evaluates Enrolled Nurse and Support Workers
• Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with Management, Key stakeholders, residents and the team
• Facilitates regular meetings and clinical, educational sessions as required
• Actively involved in Quality Improvement Programmes
